Pi Business Solutions Joins the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs)

The Women’s Empowerment Principles provide guidance for businesses on promoting gender equality and empowering women across three key areas:

1. Workplace:

• High-level corporate leadership for gender equality

• Fair and respectful treatment of all employees

• Ensuring employee health, safety, and well-being

2. Marketplace:

• Equal opportunities for career development

• Gender-sensitive supply chain and marketing practices

3. Community:

• Advocacy and community initiatives that support women’s empowerment

These principles are grounded in international labor and human rights standards and are reviewed locally by the Jordanian National Commission for Women (JNCW), the WEPs ally in Jordan.

WEPs also support progress toward the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, promoting practices such as equal pay, gender-responsive workplaces, and zero tolerance for harassment.

Research from WEPs shows that increasing women’s participation in the workforce enhances productivity, innovation, overall organizational performance and reduces corruption. The core idea is simple: men and women bring unique skills, perspectives, and approaches—and leveraging this diversity makes companies more competitive and effective.
